I have been working on the perfect business card for what I am doing and this finally came to me - put my contact information on one of my die cuts and then hand stamp the info! Easy Envelopes

I am in the middle of making Christmas and wanted to try to include some custom envelopes. I wanted to share a couple of them with you - they are so easy and really look great!  To do this, you will need to use heavy cardstock (I love the ones that are two-sided) and have a bone folder handy so you can get precise lines.  Take a look and let me know what you think!

Busy time of year!

It's that time of year -  family events, the holidays and all that pressure to be "just so" to impress everyone!  I have been working on updated the DoADieCut website and we have added new lettering that you can use to customize your projects, the next thing I will be adding (hopefully tomorrow) will be different cards that you can customize and make at home.  I'll keep you updated!

I have been working on a few new projects, these are easy things to do, so take a look and let me know if I can help you!

Kraft paper tags - perfect for price tags at a boutique!

I recently had a customer order 100 of these tags for her upcoming boutique, she is going to stamp them and use them as price tags!  Great idea!!

Fleur de lis
The fleur de lis is a common embellishment we see nowadays.  I have die cut these on medium weight white chipboard, then adhered heavy card stock and lastly, ran them through an embossing press.  I love the way these turned out!  I think I am going to do larger ones for my home and use them as decorations!

The last thing I will share with you is a combination die cut and stamping project. I know we have family dinners and usually know everyone in attendance, but sometimes you just want to add a bit of detail that can impress in a simple way!  I have been working on these bags for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, although they would be great wedding favor bags as well!

If you'd like the basics of the bag and want to decorate it your way, just let me know and I can quote you a price to die cut as many as you need!

Weekend Projects

I just wanted to share a couple of really easy things I worked on this weekend, with a little bit of time and a few materials you can do a lot!

This favor bag was made on the Sizzix Big Shot with a scalloped bag die. I used two toned papers, so that the inside is a light blue - a great wedding favor box, or in different colors, it could be a nice nametag for a large family dinner!  I am working on some Thanksgiving bags now, I'll have pictures up soon!

My other project was a personalized card with embossed paper (done on the Sizzix) and some Close to My Heart Stamps!  I love the way this turned out!  If you'd like a card kit, let me know, it's really simple to make and would make a great note to give to someone you have been meaning to get together with!

I used American Crafts basic white textured cardstock for the actual card, Core'dimensions paper for the embossing and a plain beige cardstock for the stamping and the "Take a Sip" stamp set from Close to My Heart - just gently tear the edges for a rustic look and you have a great combination!  The three brown and blue squares have a silver metal brad on the center, then glued to the card.  So simple, and a great craft that can be adjust for any season or greeting!

Ideas for creativity...

Raw Chipboard tag
It's the Holiday Boutique time and there are so many good ideas out there - make sure you are able to check out at least a couple to help you refresh your idea bank. You can even use your cell phone camera to take pictures of the ideas you would like to try and refer to them later. Just be sure to make them your own by adding your own colors, embellishments and die cuts. By adding a little bit of uniqueness, you add a little bit of you.

Do some simple crafts with your kids that include them in your projects. I love to make gift tags with kids - they are small projects that allow them to use glitter, paper and texture and it is something they get to share later during the gift giving season. If you need a tag pattern, I plan on posting some pictures later today.

If you use raw chipboard or KRAFT paper, you can stamp, paint, color or them anyway you'd like. They have have a great natural look and can be dressed up or down.  The ideas are endless!

Another great Die Cut machine

Again, if you don't want to spend the money for a Cricut, this is a GREAT alternative! You won't be disappointed!!

Props to Cricut!

This is one of the best die cutting tools out there! If you don't want to spend the money, let me know and I can make some die cuts for you - either way, you won't be disappointed!

Check out to see some examples.

All's Quiet...except the sound of the Cricut!

Well, I have my Etsy store up and running, just really waiting for those orders to start rolling in...not sure how much longer I can take it!?!?

I am so excited, this week I received my stamps from Close to My Heart and am so excited to start playing with them and adding some pictures of how cool they are! I am hoping that this will add a unique look to some of my cards and gift tags - or whatever else I can dream up!

A month ago, I never would have thought of myself as being too crafty - I do remember watching my grandma and her painting class in the basement of our home and thought it was so neat.  I did some printmaking back in college (even sold a few pieces), but have never been allowed the luxury of playing with ink and paper until recently.  I think my grandma would be proud!

If you'd like to see what I've been up to, I will be posting pictures periodically of the latest projects, so feel free to browse and let me know what you think!
