Gift Card holders

I know how often we purchase gift cards for those hard to shop folks in our lives!  I have a teenager and end up getting her Starbucks cards, American Eagle and Holister gift cards all the time - she's way too picky to shop for!

I came up with a much cooler way to package these gift cards, take a look!  If you are looking for some, check out my Etsy store and get them while they last!!!

Letterpress is here!

I have been so excited to start working with some letterpress items! I can't even begin to tell you how much fun this is...

I had studied printmaking and intaglio in college and loved the way you can manipulate the textures, colors and layout when working with inked plates.  Let me tell you - this is a great way to get a very customized look and each piece is a bit different from the last.

You don't need to spend a lot of money to get started.  After you have your initial tools, contact a local printing press (one that specializes in letterpress invitations is the best!) and see if they are willing to give you their scrap paper and left over ink.  Some printer will charge a small fee, but others will give these things to you entirely for free!  Just make sure they know that you are doing this as a hobby, and not competing for their business.

Here is the first set of flat notecards I was able to produce (it took a few trial runs to get the right amount of ink, pressure for embossing, and making sure the layout was correct).

Another Busy Weekend!

I love weekends during this time of year - holiday boutiques, baking, Christmas music playing the background while I work on my projects!

On Saturday I went the American Crafts Warehouse Sale - if you live in Utah, this is an absolute must!  I was able to pick up about $200 worth of paper, ribbon and various items I use for projects, for only $83!  I thought it was a great deal, my husband on the otherhand....I just don't think he will ever consider paper a "great deal"!

Here are a few of my newest projects, I will post pictures of other projects soon - I have a Favor Cake that I am working on for a gal, I love the idea and concept, let's just hope it comes out the way we envision it!

These are mini-cards on burgundy Bazzil cardstock

These gift tags were a lot of fun to work on, they look great on the tree also!

I LOVE Etsy!

I have been working non-stop lately on several Etsy orders and absolutely love this!  If you are looking for handmade beautiful things, please check out the Etsy community.  I have purchased gorgeous jewelry for my daughter, things for the house, and some great artwork.

Here is my last BIG order, I am almost done with these!  I think these are some of my favorite Christmas tags - the perfect size for wine bottles as gifts, or as a small note with a gift card.  I love the way these turned out!  I also made small pocket envelopes for them, love those as well!

Simple Note

Well, it's December 1st!  Where did the year go, I can't believe we are so close to Christmas!  I was working on a few notes for some of my long term clients and love the way this turned out.  Very limited on time today, so this is all I'm going to write.  Hope you had a wonderful kick off day to December, more exciting things to come!
